Experience

Cheyenne Van Douw completed her LLB Law degree at the University of South Africa. Cheyenne also attended lectures on a full-time basis at IPCE Illovo legal and paralegal college whilst completing her LLB. IPCE Illovo legal and paralegal college gave her the platform to participate in moot court and debates.

Prior to studying her LLB, she travelled and worked abroad as an au-pair and when she returned to South Africa, she started her LLB degree. Whilst completing her last two subjects for her LLB Law degree, Cheyenne was afforded the opportunity to do an internship for 6 months at a small law firm in Bryanston offering legal advice and services in commercial and contract law, as well as exposure to disputes related to the National Credit Act.

At the end of her internship, the director of the firm in Bryanston afforded her the opportunity to serve articles for a period of two years. Whilst serving articles, Cheyenne attended and completed the mandatory LEAD training classes at the Wits University and completed all her board exams. After completion of her contract of articles, she joined Mncube Attorneys Incorporated as a volunteer, simply to expand her knowledge and gain experience in litigation proceedings and Labour law.

Cheyenne was mentored under the wings of the director of Mncube Attorneys Incorporated and was exposed to all areas of law. Cheyenne volunteered for period of 3-4 months and eventually started handling matters independently at the CCMA and was soon promoted to an associate and was in charge of the Labour law department at Mncube Attorneys.

Cheyenne Van Douw is passionate about practice and learning something new at any given opportunity. Cheyenne is dedicated, hard-working and committed to continuously strive for excellence. Cheyenne is enthusiastic about growing in her career and works well independently or as a team player. Cheyenne Van Douw joined Lebea Attorneys as an Associate in August 2023.
