Mmakgongwane Eleine Scott graduated with her LLB from the University of the Western Cape in 2020 and started her articles of clerkship in 2022 with Malatji & Co Attorneys. She was admitted as an Attorney of the High court of South Africa in 2024.

In addition to her LLB, Eleine holds a certificate in Plain Legal Writing for Lawyers obtained from the University of Cape Town.

During her articles of clerkship, Eleine was rotated across the firm’s Commercial litigation department, Public Law as well as Employment Law. Subsequent to her retention, Eleine was promoted to the position of Associate in the Employment Law Department.

The core focus of Eleine’s practice consists of conducting forensic investigations, drafting legal opinions, initiating disciplinary enquiries against senior employees of renowned institutions within the public sector, appearing before the Labour Court and attending to policy reviews.

Eleine was one of the firm’s primary resources in our recent multi million public procurement irregularity case, in which the team secured the conviction and dismissal of officials who were involved in the maladministration of approximately R600 Million.
