Jack Kearns is a Legal Consultant specialising in Sports and Entertainment Law. Jack is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a FIFA Licensed Football Agent. Jack holds an LLB degree from the University of South Africa and a Master’s degree in International Sports Law from the Universidad Europea – Escuela Universitaria, Real Madrid.
Jack has extensive experience in sports and entertainment law, labour law, commercial law and alternative dispute resolution. Jack began his legal career at Ramsden Small Fernandes Attorneys where he served his articles of clerkship and later as an Associate Attorney, gaining broad exposure to High Court and Magistrate’s Court litigation, family law, labour law and commercial law.
In 2023, Jack joined Real Madrid C.F., as a Legal Intern, where he was involved in the drafting of sponsorship, licensing and employment agreements, as well as the development of compliance and governance procedures for the club. He also assisted in preparing submissions in a UEFA disciplinary matter involving the club, gaining valuable insight into UEFA disciplinary proceedings and football governance at the highest level. This experience deepened Jack’s expertise in sports regulations, governance, athlete representation and sports contractual matters.
Jack currently serves as a panelist on the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee, presiding over disciplinary matters in the Betway Premiership and Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Jack’s practice focuses on the intersection between law, sport and entertainment, where he advises athletes, agents, clubs and federations on legal, regulatory and commercial issues within the dynamic landscape of the global sports industry.
