Jones graduated from the University of Limpopo in 2009 and commenced his articles of clerkship in 2010. He practiced at the same firm for over 10 years until 31 March 2020 when he resigned to open his new law firm.
Jones has experience in the fields of Personal Injury Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Administrative Law, Insurance, Banking, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Public Law. He was admitted as an attorney in February 2012 and has over 8 years post-admission experience and over 10 years overall in practice. He is currently practising as a Director in a firm he founded on 1 April 2020.
Jones has acted for the Legal Practitioners Indemnity Insurance Fund (NPC) in a number of seminal cases including Stopforth Swanepoel and Brewis Incorporated v Royal Anthem Investments 129 (Pty) Ltd 2016 (1) SA 103 (CC) (2 October 2014) in an appeal to the Constitutional Court pertaining to Section 34 of the Constitution — right to access to Courts — right to fair public hearing — notice and an opportunity to be heard. The Constitutional Court upheld the appeal and found that procedural and substantive fairness was not satisfied in this instance.
Jones joined M&Co as a consultant with effect from 01 September 2020.
