Overview

Mbali obtained her BA Law degree majoring in Political Science from the University of Pretoria in 2015. She was subsequently conferred with an LLB degree from the same institution in 2019. During her tenure at the University of Pretoria, she worked at the Law Clinic as a consultant in which she partook in pro bono work involving contractual and housing disputes.

She began her articles at a law firm in Pretoria in 2020 where she worked in the General Litigation department which primarily involved being actively engaged in court procedures considering matters pertaining to the Road Accident Fund, medical negligence, and cases against State Entities. During her tenure as a Candidate Attorney at Malatji & Co Attorneys, she obtained training in the Public Law, Commercial and Corporate Litigation and Employment law departments. Some of the work undertaken by Mbali during her articles, include the administration of deceased estates. Mbali was part of the team that assisted the Road Accident Fund in litigation against Plaintiff’s Attorneys and therefore ensuring transparency within the entity.

In addition, Mbali has extensively engaged in CCMA and Labour Court matters in which she assists in guiding employers through the intricate procedures of correctly implementing employment laws and processes responsibly and fairly.

Mbali previously represented South Africa as a delegate at the People-to-People Leadership Summit at Harvard Law School in which she further explored her interest in the legal arena.

She has recently been promoted as an associate in the Employment Law Department. In this capacity, Mbali is responsible for providing legal opinions for various clients in which they seek guidance in carrying out their mandates as employers and equally defending them in the varying sectors in which they require direction.
