Luise was admitted as an attorney in 2008 and as a notary in 2009 after having served in the military legal division of the South African National Defence Force for a period of 5 years.

Pursuant to her admission, she was appointed in the corporate commercial department of a large commercial law firm in Pretoria where she became a director in 2013. In 2019 she left the firm to practise privately as a legal consultant.

Luise specialises in the restructuring of medium to large corporate groups and she has demonstratable experience in all facets of corporate commercial law, including drafting of various commercial contracts, merger and take-over transactions, due diligence investigations, preparation of legal opinions and corporate governance related advice.

She has further developed a wealth of understanding and experience in public sector commercial work and has advised various public bodies on corporate commercial matters. Notably, she formed part of the drafting team to the National Lotteries Commission during the preparation and negotiation of the Third Lotteries Licence, and she advised the Department of Trade and Industry on the restructuring of its public-private partnership agreement on the dti campus. She also assisted the Land and Agricultural Development Bank in the restructuring of its insurance subsidiaries and the alignment of these subsidiaries with the new Insurance Act, 2018.

She has a special interest in regulatory compliance in various industries and has been involved in several high-profile statutory inspections and subsequent prosecutions on behalf of the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

Her experience in these areas includes the corporate, contractual, regulatory and general commercial aspects of these industries and public bodies.

Her past and present clients have included listed and unlisted public companies, large corporate groups and high-net-worth individuals.
