Phineath obtained her LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2021.  She joined Malatji & Co as a candidate attorney in 2022 and was retained as an associate in the Public Law and Commercial Law Department.  Phineath is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Commercial Law, which features amongst others, Company Law and Corporate Finance modules. In addition to the post-graduate studies, in the pursuit of upskilling herself, Phineath has completed short courses, including:

• Plain Language Writing Skills (University of Cape Town);

• Opinion Writing (Legal Education and Development); and

• Advanced Drafting Skills for Contracts (Legal Education and Development).

Since admission as an Attorney, Phineath has developed expertise in a wide range of legal fields. These include, advising clients on public law, procurement law, corporate governance, corporate transactions and restructuring, complex High Court litigation, conducting disciplinary hearings for professional misconduct, reviewing and drafting of contracts and corporate policies (including PAIA manuals), conducting training sessions and legal opinions on POPIA and PAIA compliance, and conducting investigations into allegations of governance irregularities and drafting comprehensive reports.
